Sealed bids will be received by the Purchasing Mana
ger of the Port of Portland, 700 N.E. Multnomah
Street, Portland, Oregon (mailing address: P.O. Box
3529, Portland, OR 97208) for items detailed herein
until the individually specified dates and times indi
cated, and thereafter publicly opened and read.
Sealed bids for Westmoreland Community Center
Addition, University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon will
be received by the Oregon State Board of Higher
Education at University of Oregon, Physical Plant
Department, Conference Room 2, 1295 Franklin
Boulevard, Eugene, Oregon 97403, until 2:30 P.M.,
PDT, Tuesday, October 13, 1987, and then publicly
opened and read aloud by the Undersigned or a de
.signated representative.
Plans and specifications may be examined and/or
obtained at the above address. Contact the Purcha
sing Department at 231-5000, Ext. 588.
Bids must be on the bid form provided to prospec
tive bidders and, when Bid Surety is required, must
be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check
drawn on a United States bank, or a bid bond pay
able to the Port of Portland in an amount equal to at
least 10 percent of the total amount bid
Briefly, the work is described as the renovation of
a 2200 S.F. building, including selective demolition
and the construction of a new 700 S F. addition at
Westmoreland Family Housing Complex, Eugene,
Oregon.
Bids will be received on a lump-sum basis for all of
the work. One set of contract documents may be
obtained by prime bidders only, from Robertson/
Sherwood/Architects dc , 96 East Broadway - Suite
6, Eugene, Oregon, upon deposit of $50.00. Addi
tional sets may be obtained for the cost of reproduc
tion plus a deposit of $50.00.
When prequalification is required, the prequalifica
tion statements should be received at least 5 days
prior to the time set for bid opening. Applications
for prequalification may be submitted less than 5
days before bid opening, but consideration by the
Port cannot he assured
Attention is called to the provisions of the Oregon
Revised Statutes 279 350 providing that workers be
paid prevailing wage rates.

Scope:
Construction of a storm water retention pond and
cul-de-sac, and perimeter fencing
The work in
cludes approximately 2.4 acres of stripping, 1,850
cubic yards of excavation and embankment, 60 lineal
feet of 21 inch CMP, 100 lineal feet of 30-inch CMP,
reinforced concrete inlet and outlet structures, 200
tons of aggregate base course, 110 tons of asphalt
surface course, and 2,050 lineal feet of perimeter
fencing. A prebid conference will be held on Thurs
day, October 1, 1987, at 2:30 p.m., in the Pilot's
Lounge at Mulino Airport located on S. Airport
Road, Mulino, Oregon, to discuss all phases of the
All bidders must comply with ORS 279.350 relating
to prevailing rates of wage.
Bidders are required to attend a mandatory Pre-Bid
Conference which will be held at the project site, on
Tuesday, October 6, 1987 at 2:00 P.M., PDT. This
will be the only opportunity for Bidders to access the
project building.
No bid will be considered unless fully completed in
the manner provided in the "Instructions to Bidders"
upon the Bid Form provided and accompanied by
bid security.
