INVITATION FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for an Elevator Service Contract will be
accepted by the Housing Authority of Portland, 8910
N. Woolsey Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97203 until
2:00 p.m., PDT, Tuesday, October 20, 1987, Follow­
ing a short interval, bids will be opened publicly
and read aloud. Bidders may be present during the
bid opening.
The work includes, but is not limited to, full main­
tenance coverage of Housing Authority elevators.
Prospective bidders may obtain one set of bidding
documents, at no charge, at the Housing Authority,
8910 N. Woolsey Avenue between 8:00 a.m. and
4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Machine Room doors will be open from 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 8, 1987 for inspection.

No bidder may withdraw bid after the hour set for the
opening thereof until after the lapse of 60 days from
the bid opening.
All bids must be submitted on forms supplied by the
Housing Authority. All bids must be regular in every
respect and no interlineations, excisions or special
conditions shall be made or included in the bid forms
by the bidder.
Bid documents will include the bid and shall be en­
closed in an opaque sealed envelope which shall be
clearly labeled "Housing Authority of Portland —Ele­
vator Contract Bid” , and include name of the bidder,
date and time of bid opening to guard against pre­
mature opening of the bid. No responsibility will be
attached to an officer for premature opening of a bid
not properly addressed and identified.
The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any
bid not in compliance with all prescribed bidding
procedures and requirements and may reject any or
all bids, and waive all informalities if in the judgment
of HAP that it is in the public interet to do so. Ques­

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be re­
ceived at City Hall, 265 Strand Street, P.O. Box 278,
St. Helens, Oregon 97051, until September 24, 1987,
at 2:30 P.M. for the following project:
OREGON STREET BIKE LANES
Project includes construction of bike lanes by widen­
ing sections of Oregon Street to allow 5 ft. wide
lanes each side. The overall length of the project is
approximately 2,600 lineal feet along centerline.
Bid schedule includes:
Excavation, Grading and Compaction of
Existing Aggregate Base Material . . . Lump Sum

Prequalification of bidders is not required by the City
but must be received at City Hall by September 22,
1987, if submitted. All bids received which are in
proper form shall be publicly opened on September
24, 1987, at 2:30 P.M. and read aloud at:

BIDDER'S NAME, ADDRESS, TELEPHONE NUM­
BER, and OPENING DATE shall be on the OUTSIDE
of the sealed envelope.
A bid bond and a performance bond will be required.
Plans and specifications will be available on Septem­
ber 16, 1987, and may be obtained at City Hall for
review.
All bidders are required to comply with the provi­
sions of ORS Chapter 279, the applicable provisions
of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972,
and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended. The
City may reject any bid not in compliance with all
prescribed public bidding procedures and require­
ments and may reject for good cause any or all bids
upon a finding of the City Council that it is in the
public interest to do so.
Contractors are required to obtain a City business
license.
