The Port of Portland has an im­
mediate opening for a Police Offi­
cer to be responsible for the pro­
tection of life and property at
Port of Portland International Air­
port, to ensure the convenience
and well being of the public while
traveling through airport facili­
ties, and to respond to the needs
of airport tenants in a prompt and
professional manner.

Qualified applicants should:
• Be capable of learning to oper­
ate various equipment asso­
ciated with police work (ie.,
firearms, patrol car radios,
camera, resuscitator, type­
writer, teletype, etc.)
• Have the ability to work on any
shift, and be subject to possi­
ble standby in the event of
emergencies.
• Be in good physical condition
and within acceptable height
and weight limitations.
• Be willing to attend training
and in-service schools as as­
signed and be certified by
BPST within one year of hire
date as a condition of contin­
ued employment.
Qualified applicants must also be
at least 21 years of age, have
U.S. citizenship and a high
school diploma or GED (not wai­
ved).
This position requires a combina­
tion of highly developed interper­
sonal and public relations skills
and the ability to perform all as­
pects of police work. Candidates
will be selected for interview on a
competitive basis.

SPECIALIST
The Port of Portland has an im­
mediate opening for an individual
to proficiently and accurately pre­
pare typeset copy on computer-
based typesetting equipment.
Preferred qualifications include
a demonstrated ability to ope­
rate computer-based typesetting
equipment, the ability to apply
excellent language skills and to
apply arithmetic skills in complex
format computations. Also pre­
ferred is the ability to perform
paste-up, to work with minimal
assistance or supervision and a
willingness to work overtime as
required. Experience operating
the Linotype 300 systems is also
preferred.
