For Highway Division
Ronault Latang Sajang Catalani, who was born in
Indonesia, has been named labor compliance mana
ger for the State Highway Division, Salem.
He is in charge of managing the division's Equal
Employment Opportunity/Minority Business Enter
prise programs.
Catalani, 34, has managed a Southeast Asian Le
gal Assistance Project for six counties in the Portland
and Salem areas during the past four years. He was
a case worker for the State Children's Service Divi­
sion for one year.
Catalani was involved in an interdiscriplinary gra
duate program in Third World community develop­
ment at the University of Oregon, graduated from
Willamette Law School and studied at Howard
University, Washington, D.C., under a community-
lawyer post-doctoral fellowship.
He is a member of the Oregon State Bar Affirma­
tive Action Committee, on the board of the Inter
national Refugee Center of Oregon and the North
west Voter Education and Registration Project, sec­
retary of the Refugee Child Advisory Committee,
counsel and spokesman for the Southeast Asian
Legal Affairs Task Force, and was formerly secre­
tary of the Salem Forum on Refugee Affairs and a
member of the Salem Human Rights Commission.
