ted from Northwest Schools on Fri­
day, May 29 1987. She completed
an intense seven-month Airline/Tra
vel Training Course, which prepares
graduates for a variety of positions
C.I.T.Y. to Host 3rd Summer Program
Citizens Involved in Teaching
Youth (C.I.T.Y.) will hold its 3rd
Summer Education Program June
22nd to July 31st. The location of
the program will be at Humboldt
School, 4915 N. Gantenbein.
C.I.T.Y was established to assist
students in improving their basic
skills, enhance their self-esteem and
increase their awareness level of
computers.
C.I.T.Y. was founded by Dr. Carl
Parker and his wife Audre in the fall
of 1984
Coordinating this sum­
mer's program is Mrs. Jamila Tay­
lor, a 4th grade instructor at Hum­
boldt School. Mrs Taylor will also
teach 3rd and 4th grades in the
C.I.T.Y. program.
Assisting Mrs. Taylor with coor­
dinating C.I.T.Y activities is Mrs.
Audre Parker a former elementary
and secondary teacher. Mrs. Parker
will also instruct 1st and 2nd graders
ip the program.
Teaching 5th and 6th grade clas­
ses will be Mr. Doug Strong. He
has worked at Humboldt for 10
years.

C.I.T.Y. Summer Education Pro­
gram is open to students who have
completed grades 16. Classes will
be held Monday through Thursdays
from 9 a m. to 12:30 p.m. On Fri­
days we will go on a variety of field
trips.
During the afternoon, there will
be 3 non-academic classes offered:
'computers, crafts and music.’

Metra is a graduate of Millington
Central High School in Memphis,
Tenn. She is the daughter of Mrs.
Edna Smith, also of Portland.

Lesia is a graduate of Grover
Cleveland High School and the
daughter of Mrs. Laura Ali, also of
Portland.

pleted an intense seven-month Air-
line/Travel Training Course, which
prepares the graduates for a variety
of positions within the airline and
travel industry. Atoa has a special
interest in working as a ramp agent,
reservationist or customer service
representative, in the Portland or
Los Angeles areas.
Atoa is the daughter of proud
parents, Vaifoa and To'a Brown of
Portland.
