Sealed bids for the Portland Mulino Airport, Demo
lition. Clearing, and Seeding, Parcel# 004, 014, and
015, will be received by the Purchasing Manager of
The Port of Portland, 700 N E. Multnomah Street,
Portland, Oregon (mailing address: Post Office B om
3529, Portland, Oregon, 972061 until 2 p m , Janu
ary 6, 1987, and thereafter publicly opened and read
Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women
Business Enterprise (WBE) Good Faith Effort Pro
gram:
Bidders are required to show that subcontractors,
suppliers, and manufacturers which have been
certified by the Oregon Department of Transporta
tion IODOT) or the City of Portland as Minority
Business Enterprises or Women Business Enter
prises will participate in not less than the following
percentages of the total dollar amount bid
Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs): 10 %
Women Business Enterprises (WBEsI: 10%
Scope:
Demolition and/or removal of various types of
buildings, foundations, concrete slabs, driveways,
sidewalks, septic tanks, fencing, and miscellan
eous items, capping well; clearing berry brambles,
trees, and other vegetation; smooth grading; and
seeding.

Bids must be on the bid form which will be provided
to prospective bidders and must be accompanied by
a certified or cashier's check drawn on a United
States bank or a bid bond payable to The Port of
Bidders are required to prequahfy Prequalification
statements must be received at least 5 days prior to
the time set for bid opening. Applications for pre
qualification may be submitted less than 5 days
before bid opening, but consideration by Port cannot
be assured.
The drawings and the contract manual may be exa
mined at Port offices. Copies may be obtained by
prospective bidders at no cost.
This is a federal aid contract, and all labor shall be
paid no less than the minimum wage rates esta
Wished by the U S Secretary of Labor, as included
in the contract documents.
The labor and equal employment opportunity re­
quirements referenced in the Bid will apply to this
work. The proposed Contract is under the subject of
Executive Order 11246 on Nondiscrimination Under
Federal Contracts, September 24, 1965, and as
amended, and 49 CFR Part 23, on Participation of
Minority Business Enterprises in Department of
Transportation Programs, March 31, 1980
Minority business enterprises and women business
enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit
bids in response to this invitation and will not be
discriminated against on the grounds of race, color,
or national origin in consideration for an award of any
contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement.
