Hallo. Folks I'd like to thank you for your calls concerning the return of
my column to our publication Not to worry. I haven't gone anywhere
I've just been busyllll Has anyone out there heard of the Musical Tech
nitians?
Neighborhood Talent Goes National
Hats off to J .W Friday and Joe (Bean) Keller Both of these guys have
stuck to doing what they do best and now, after hanging in there, have
started to receive their just desserts
I'm referring to two national T V commercials: one for Chevrolet trucks
and one for California raisins Joe Keller can be seen running along side a
Chevy truck throwing boxing combinations, otherwise portraying a boxer
in training. You can't really see his face, but who can mistake that body
and style? Hey, Joel Don King's been trying to get in touch with youl
J .W Friday's unmistakable voice can be heard coming from one of Cali
forma's "dancing raisins
This commercial is one of two commercials
featuring the phenomenon of "Claymation". Both are up for national
awards
J .W is also celebrating 10 years on KBOO radio. "A Decade of Sound."
Congratulations from the Portland Observer, and I urge all of you (The
Community) to congratulate J .W and Joe Bean" personally They are
really something to be proud of.
