    INVITATION FOR BID
KITCHEN AND HEATING MODIFICATIONS
Sealed bids are requested for all labor and materials
required for the installation of new kitchen fixtures
and central heating systems and will be received at
8910 N Woolsey Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97203,
until 2 00 p m. PST, Tuesday. December 2. 1986
Shortly thereafter, bids will be opened and publicly
read, and the attendance of bidders is welcomed
No bid will be considered unless accompanied by bic
security in the form of certified check, cashier's
check, or surety bond payable to the Housing Autho
rity of Portland in an amount equal to 10% of the
bid which is to be forfeited as fixed and liquidated
damages should bidder neglect or refuse to enter into
a contract or provide a suitable bond for the faithful
performance of the work when bidder is notified of
contract award
Basically, the work consists of construction for eight
(8) prototype kitchens, including demolition, replace
ment of cabinet fixtures, floor coverings, carpentry,
window replacement, painting, plumbing, electrical
renovations, as well as the installation of new gas
fired central heating system in six (6) unit types
A minimum of 20% MBE participation in the execu
tion of this project is a HAP requirement and the
methods the bidder proposes to comply with this
requirement are subject to HAP review and approval
prior to initiating the contract
Interested bidders may obtain one set of bid docu
rnents at the HAP Maintenance Office, located at
8910 N Woolsey Avenue. Portland, Oregon, 97203
upon receipt of deposit of $20 00 which is refund
able Documents must be returned to HAP in good
condition within 10 days after bid opening in order to
receive refund of deposit Additional sets may be
acquired for $10 00 which is not refundable
No bidder may withdraw bid after the hour set for
opening thereof until after the lapse of sixty (60)
days from the bid opening.
The Housing Authority of Portland may refect any
bid not in compliance with the prescribed bidding
procedures and requirements and may reject any or
all bids and waive all informalities if, in the judgement
of HAP, it is in the public interest to do so. Ques

A HAP representative will conduct a tour of the job
site commencing at 10:00 a m., Wednesday. No
vember 19, ,986 The meeting will convene at the
Maintenance Office and the attendance of all bidders
is requested Questions posed at that time regarding
the protect, when not addressed in the specifica
tions, will be answered by addenda and forwarded to
all bidders by mail
