INVITATION FOR BIDS
PRO JECT NO G4 9902 SEC U R ITY LIGHTS
Sealed bids for the installation of security lights wil
be accepted by the Housing Authority of Portland
Oregon (HAPI at 8910 N Woolsey Avenue, Port
land, Oregon 97203 until 2 00 p m.. PST, Tuesday
November 18, 1986 Following a short interval, bid!
will be publicly opened and read aloud Bidders ma(
be present during the bid opening
Briefly, the work consists of installing nine (91 new
light standards with fixtures after removing existing
standards
Prospective bidders may obtain one set of bidding
documents at the Housing Authority of Portland
Maintenance Office, 8910 N. Woolsey Avenue, bet
ween 8 00 a m. and 4:00 p m , Monday through
Friday A $20 refundable deposit is required for
each set of documents. Documents must be retur­
ned to HAP in good condition w ith in ten days a fte r
bid opening date in order to receive refund of de
posit Additional sets of documents may be acquired
for $10 each which is not refundable. Business
firms outside the Portland area may request docu­
ments by calling 283 4602 and making arrangements
for deposit by mail.
A HAP representative will conduct a tour of the job
site at 4100 N Alaska, commencing at 10:00 a m. on
Monday, November 3 Questions posed at that time
regarding the protect will be answered by addenda
and provided to all bidders by mail.
A minimum of 20% MBE participation in tbe execu
tion of this project is a HAP requirement and tbe
methods the bidder proposes in complying with this
requirement is subject to HAP review and approval
prior to initiating tbe contract.
No bid will be considered unless accompanied by Bid
Security in tbe form of certified check or surety
bond, payable to the Housing Authority of Portland
in an amount equal to 10% of the bid to be forfeited
as fixed and liquidated damages should bidder neg
lect or refuse to enter into a contract and provide
suitable bond for the faithful performance of the
work in the event the contract is awarded to the
bidder
No bidder may withdraw a bid after the hour set for
the opening thereof until after the lapse of sixty (60)
days from the bid opening
The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any
bid not in compliance with all prescribed bidding
procedures and requirements and may reject any or
all bids, and waive all informalities if in the |udge
ment of HAP, it is in the public interest to do so.
