Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the
City Manager. First Floor. City Hall, Hillsboro, Ore
gon until
11 00 a m , August 29. 1986. at which
time bids will be opened and read publicly
Basically the work consists of installing an under
ground fireline to a warehouse/ shop building located
at the above address and constructing an automatic
fire sprinkler within the building.
Interested bidders may obtain one set of bid docu
ments at the HAP Maintenance Office located at
8910 N Woolsey Avenue, Portland, Oregon, 97203
upon receipt of deposit of $20 which is refundable
Documents must be returned to HAP in good condi
tion within 10 days after bid opening in order to re
ceive refund of deposit Additional sets may be ac
quired for $10 which is not refundable.
The general nature and approximate quantities of
work ait* ¿is follows
Modification to an existing electrical service, under
ground wiring and the installation of 27 light poles
with fixtures
A HAP representative will conduct a tour of the job
site commencing at 10:00 a m . Wednesday,
August 20. 1986 and the attendance of all bidders
is requested Questions posed at that time regarding
the project that are not addressed in the specifica
tions will be answered by addenda and provided to
all bidders by mail.
Contract documents may be obtained from the office

Documents will not be mailed unless advance money

No bids will be considered unless the bidder states
that provisions required by the Federal Fair Labor
Standards Provision relating to prevailing Davis

No bid will be considered unless accompanied by bid
security in the form of certified check, cashier s
check, or surety bond payable to the Housing Autho
rity of Portland in an amount equal to 10% of the
bid which is to be forfeited as fixed and liquidated
damages should bidder neglect or refuse to enter
into a contract or provide a suitable bond for the
faithful performance of the work when bidder is no
tified of contract award
A minimum of 20% MBE participation in the execu
tion of this project is a HAP requirement and the
methods the bidder proposes to comply with this
requirement is subject to HAP review and approval
prior to initiating the contract
No bidder may withdraw bid after the hour set for
opening thereof until after the lapse of sixty 160)
days from the bid opening
The Housing Authority of Portland may reject any
bid not in compliance with the prescribed bidding
procedures and requirements and may reject any or
all bids and waive all informalities, if in the judge
ment of HAP it is in the public interest to do so
