Modern Science o f M enial Health was published
in M ay 1950. the response was instantaneous and
overwhelming It became a nationwide best seller
almost overnight By late summer, people across
the country were not only reading the book but
were also organizing their own groups for the pur
pose of applying the techniques of Piane!ics
This first book on Dianetics has increased in
popularity since 1950. and it has now been a con
sistent best seller for .16 years A phenomenon in
