license required M ain tain filters;
dean lime feeder and discharge lines;
clean and maintain intake and equip
ment; perform repair on valves and
fittings; reconstruct filter beds as
needed. Perform daily chem ical,
physical, and bacteriological tests on
raw and finished w ater; calculate
amounts of. and apply chemicals to
raw water to assure a safe product for
hum an co nsum ption; adjust feed
rates on equipment as required and
maintain feeders, connect hazardous
m aterial containers CI2, S 0 2 to
chem ical feeders. M aintain cleanli­
ness of work areas, including minor
painting tasks; perform other duties
as needed Maintain operating log of

pressures; monitor filter turbidities,
head loss, and flows; backwash filters
as required; analyze and record the
chem ical characteristics of ra w ,
treated and finished w ater hourly.
Operate raw and finished water pum ­
ps to m ain tain proper pressures,
clearwell levels, reservoir levels, and
to meet user demands; check pumps
and screens at river source and at
plant for d etec tab le m a lfu n ction .
Collect and analyze bacteriological
sam ples from the system and the filter
plant for safeness; record all
laboratory records in permanent log;
prepare media and material analyses.
O ccasionally w ork outside in all
