lology; or equivalent Valid driver's
license required M aintain filters;
dean lime feeder and discharge lines;
clean and maintain intake and equip
ment; perform repair on valves and
fittings, reconstruct filter beds as
needed Perform daily chemical,
physical, and bacteriological tests on
raw and finished w ater; calculate
amounts of, and apply chemicals to
raw water to assure a safe product for
human consum ption, adjust feed
rates on equipment as required and
maintain feeders, connect hazardous
material containers CI2, S02 to
chemical feeders Maintain cleanli
ness of work areas, including minor
painting tasks; perform other duties
as needed Maintain operating log of
pumps, reservoir levels, and I
pressures; m onitor filter turbidities,
head loss, and flows; backwash filters
as required; analyze and record the |
chemical characteristics of raw,
treated and finished w ater hourly.
Operate raw and finished water pum
ps to maintain proper pressures,
clearwell levels, reservoir levels, and
to meet user demands; check pumps
and screens at river source and at
plant for detectable m alfunction.
Collect and analyze bacteriological
samples from the system and the filter
plant for safeness; record all
laboratory records in permanent log;
prepare media and material analyses
Occasionally work outside in all
weather conditions, lift; climb ladders
and scaffolding; shovel coal, sand
and rock; apply hazardous chemicals. |
