KBOO-FM will offer a 10 week
unpaid internship program in public
radio news production from Jan. 29
to March 2. Five successful applicants
will attend a tw o-hour weekly class
Wednesday mornings and work an
additional four to six hours each week
on the KWX) News.
The purpose of the class is to train
reporters and editors for the KH(X)
News. The classes will cover writing
for radio, radio production, the law
and the media, interviewing, freelanc­
ing to national news organizations
and more.
Applicants must be able to type,
have a broad knowledge of news,
strong w riting skills, a flexible
schedule and be willing to work
cooperatively in a hectic environment
under deadline pressure. In addition,
anyone accepted into the program
must make a firm com m itm ent to
complete the internship and become a
member of the KB(X) Foundation.

Reynolds. He has worked in public-
radio news for 10 years at KBOO,
KMXT K odiak, AK, Pacifica
N ational News, W CUW -FM W or-
cester, MA. His work has been heard
on National Public Radio, Pacifica
National News, and the Alaska Public
Radio Network.

weekly lecture scries sponsored by the
International Studies D epartm ent.
Theme for the winter term series is
" L a tin America: Problem s of
Development."
Each week a guest lecturer will
speak on a topic related to Latin
America. The colloquium series is
held on the PSU campus in room 53
