Can’t Slop the Love, preceding it with a jum pin' debut single entitled "Back In Stride." Perfecting their ranks by adding a few well-appointed funksters to the established Maze nucleus, the group expounds on its solid, smoldering R&B base, heating up the Tires with improved technical proficiency and a mainline connection to funk in its un- distilled state. Traveling west from Philadelphia with percussionists Roame Lowry, McKinley Williams and keyboardist Sam Porter, in the early ’70s, Frankie changed ihe name o f his band from "Raw Soul" to "M aze" and settled in the Bay area. Incorporating an a ffin ity for jazz-flavored instrumental arrange ments with Philly-influenced vocal harmonies. Maze quickly succeeded in scoring a record deal with Capitol in 1976. Since that time, their career profile has consisted o f sold-out concert tours and a string o f gold albums beginning with Ihcit debut release Maze Leaturing Lrankte beverly in January o f 1977.
