Court rules on
PCC election
METROPOLITAN
C arl P iacen tin i, D ana A n d erso n and
Dick S pringer, contested the election
and asked that balloting be ruled inval
xl for Yamhill County.
In making Ins decision, Judge Olson
said, "1 he mail ballot election was il
legal a n d those ballots sh o u ld not be
counted. It is not proper to vote again
in that area only since attitudes change
and it w ould not be the sam e circum
stances."
Next action in the case will be con
sideration of election costs, court costs
and setting ol a new election date.

A ug. 13 P o rtla n d C o m m u n ity C o l­
lege (P C C ) serial levy election was in ­
valid because Yamhill C ounty did not
give notice they would be using a mail

The college had a th ree-y ear $3.5
m illion levy befo re voters tn the five
counties o f the district. I he less tailed
by 569 votes. Yam hill C ounty used a
m ail b a llo t fo r th e ir p o rtio n o f the
election.
