Under general supervision, to keep as
signed facilities clean and orderly; to
maintain facilities and equipment includ
ing performing periodic service and minor
repairs; to prepare rooms for meetings; to
do related work as required
Cleans offices and other areas in one or
more public buildings; sweeps, mops and
waxes floors; vacuums rugs; dusts and
polishes furniture and woodwork; re
plenishes supplies; sets up rooms for
meetings; empties and cleans waste
recepticles; washes windows, polishes
metal work; turns out lights and locks
doors and windows; performs preventive
maintenance and required periodic serv
ice on facilities and equipment; does mi
nor repairs including plumbing, electrical
appliance, hardware, painting, etc ; de
termines when major repair is needed and
works with service provioer, inventories
and orders custodial and related sup
plies; assists in identifying needs for an
nual budget; maintains necessary records
(eg. service dates, service providers)
and prepares required reports; does spe
cial projects (eg carpentry, major repairs,
fabrication of parts, etc.) as skills and
available equipment permit; participates
in maintenance of parking lot and
grounds of assigned facilities, provides
back up coverage of facilities not included
in regular assignment when illness, vaca
tion schedule or other circumstances
require; provides proper care of equip
merit and materials used in the work
