A Night to Remember is the theme of Rose City Connection ■ 3rd
Annuel Benefit Fashion Show to be presented on Saturday. Oct 6.
The annual fashion shows have been the highlight of Rose City Con
nection s year round fundraising activities This show promises to be
the best yet. says Barbara Taylor, a member of the organization
Using experienced models such as Ronee Walker, Denies Williams.
Dania Danner Von Ray Johnson. Carrie Moore. Richard Pattiford and
others, they will be presented fashion scenes that will focus on the
theme of the evening Attire for the models will be furnished by Wee
therfords M Willocks, Schumacher Furs, Mario's, Vomo Giovane and
others In addition, there will be musical entertainment by ' CleanCut
and other surprises
Gueets at the show will also be the first to see and be able to purchase
the new Men of Portland 86 calendar The calendar will feature noted
local personalities such as Clyde Drexler. Mayor Bud Clark. James De
Preist. Pete Schulberg. and Ron Steen
Proceeds from the fashion show and calendar go to help support local
educational and scholarship programs for ethnic minorities Charles
Stoudamire of Rose City Connection, states that our ultimate goal is
to start our own scholarship fund."
Tickets for the fahsion show are $12 in advance. $15 at the door and

Water color paintings by Warrenton artist Carol Riley are on display in
the Governor's Office through Oct 18
Riley s vivid works featuring flowers and fruit have been exhibited
throughout Oregon, including in the Lawrence galleries in Portland and
■ t Salishan. at the Carole Smith Gallery in Salem, at Hanson Howard
Galleries in Ashland at Portland s Artquake and at the Oregon State Fair
fri Salem The Sunriver Art Competition, the Oregon Watercolor Compe
tition, and the Western Region Print, Painting and Drawing Competition
have all recognized Riley 's work
; A member of the Northwest Print Council Board of Directors. Riley
(eaches at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology She has been active in
the Artist in the School Program since 1976 and has worked on 63 sep
•rate mural projects in 30 schools Her art decorates the walls of Oregon
State University. Willamette University the Lake Oswebo Public Library
and the Portland Art Museum
; Riley is a graduate of Scripps College in Claremont. California IB A in

CleanCut returns to 6th Ave.
Portland's hottest vocal group. CleanCut. will be returning to the 6th
Ave Club (formerly Old Town Saloon) in the month of October Clean
Cut consists of four lead vocalists Mary Turner. Richard Greer. Ronee
Walker and Joe (B«an) Keller Music will be played by the CleanCut
Band Video taping scheduled for a previous 6th Ave engagement
which was cancelled will take place on this performance date Road

Oct. 18th and 19th are the targeted dates scheduled for the 1st Annual
Musical Extravaganza The two day event will feature a variety of Port
land's finest musical groups. Groups slated for the event are Velvet,
