Denver's highly acclaimed Black enaembie will appear In Its energetic
end versatile modem dance program on Friday. Feb 16th at the Jeffer
son High School Performing Arts Center. 6210 N. Kerby at Alberta. The
group will be in residence for tw o days at Lewis and Clark College and
Jefferson High School through the co-sponsorship of the Western
States Art Foundation and Jefferson. Performance time Is 8:00 p.m.
N/NE Jazz Jam Session
You are Invited out every Sunday mid-evening to listen to soma of the
finest Jazz artists in the city of Portland at the Tlppln Inn IN. Alberta
and Albina). Each week you can listen to artists such as There Memory.
Randy Smith. Gena McGee, Greg Fisher. Greg Brown and a host of
other musicians. The Tlppln Inn also features a variety of alcoholic and
non-alcoholic beverages together with a menu of food to delight the
appetite. The Jazz Jam Sessions are held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and all
musicians are invited to sit in. 21 and over.

This weekend you can listen to live music by the Street Music Band at
the Eldorado Club (N.E. Union ft Alberta), the Frank Redding Trio at
BeeGee's Lounge (N.E. Union & Jeeaup). Calvin Walker at Cousins (S.W.
Ankeny & 3rd). Sandra Simmons at the Brassiere Montmartre. Velvet
holds jam sessions at Slick Willy's every Tuesday night. Support your

Five Finger Exercise
On Friday. February 16,'Rve Finger Exercise." an intense drama opens
on stage at the Arehouse Theater. 1436 SW Montgomery St. This trag
edy scopes the inner feelings of a German orphan who yearns for a new
country and a family love he has never known.
Well known for his writing skill in "Amadeus" and "Equua." British
playwright Peter Shaffer won the New York Critic's Circle Award for
"Ave Anger Exercise" as the Best Foreign Play of the Year In 1980. It was
one of his first plays produced and has enthralled audiences ever since.
"Ave Anger Exercise" performances are Friday and Saturday evenings
February 15 through March 23. There will be an Actor's Benefit Sunday.
March 10 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the opening night champagne gala are
*7.00 and other performances are *8.00 Reservations are encouraged;
please call the Arehouse Theater at 248-4737 Curtain is at 8:00 p.m.. Fri
days and Saturdays.

Fiddle Workshop with Greg Baker will be held Sunday. March 3rd.
3:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Artichoke Music, located at 722 NW 21st. Portland.
Oregon. Greg Baker teaches locally at the School of Old-Time. Country
and Bluegrass Music and is the author of The Fiddle Senes. This will be a
two-level workshop, with beginners from 3:30 - 4:16 and intermediate/
advanced fiddlers from 4:16 j- 6:30 p.m. Students are asked to bring a fid
die and music stand. This is free and open to the public. For further In
