Linda Tillery's back in town
Linda Tillery la th e kind of p e rfo rm er w h o arrives c o m p le te w ith
status and reputation the first tim e you hear her. She will be arriving In
Portland, February 8. to help A W om en's Place Bookstore celebrate
their 12-yeer ennlversary.
Tillery began her singing career at the height of th e San Francisco
rock music explosion. She hea shared the bill w ith telents such es John
Meyell. Arlo Guthrie, Chuck Berry. Buddy M iles, J e ff Beck and Janis
Joplin. She has sung on album s w ith Boz Scaggs, Lenny W h ite and
Coke Escovedo. And, to top It off. she hea been voted the Beat Female
Jezz Vocalist in the Bay Area for the pest tw o years in a row.

Mardi Gras Costume Ball. Saturday. February 23, 1985, at the Portland Me
morial Coliseum in the Georgia Pacific Ballroom, 10 p.m. - 2 a m. 47.50 per
person. Live entertainment, prizes for best female costume, best male cos
tume, best couple costume, and most unusual costume. Proceeds to be used
for Zeta Nu Chapter's Scholarship Fund.

about self sufficiency as it Is about dance. It Is a m ovie about young
people w h o have taken hold o f th eir lives and taken responsibility.
They go out using the pleasure principle of dancing but they use It to
mold their destination, to captain their own ship."
"Fast Forward" will be released Feb 15.1986. at a theater near you.
