W hile he w ill continue his p olit

Jackson said today that he w ill
return to Operation PUSH .
Rev. Jackson said, " T h e public
economy deals with a $900 billion
annual budget, but the private econ-
ony has a $4 trillion "budget” (the
O N P ) — plus five o f every six jobs,
and all the wealth. We cast our po
litical votes occasionally, once every
two years or so; but, as consumers,
we cast our economic votes, our
dollars, every day. We must never
put all o f our trust in only one lever
o f liberation (e g ., politics). We
must use all that we’ve got — votes,
dollars, marching feet, developed
minds, and a morally right cause to
liberate ourselves and the nation
— and do it continuously. "
Rev. W illie Barrow, the Interim
N ational D irector o f P U S H said,
" P U S H is currently looking at a
new list of target companies. We are
very serious about using Rev. Jack
son’ s increased national political
stature to challenge the private eco
nomic sector to treat fa irly and
trade with small, underdeveloped
and underutilized m inority busi
nesses; to rejuvenate P IT B ; and
continue to build Black, Hispanic
and women’ s economic institu
tions."
