looking for a Purchasing Agent. This
is specialized work in purchasing a va
riety of commodities and services. Ex
perience and Skills (at time of appoint
ment): Knowledge of modern methods
involved in bidding, inventory manage
ment, specification preparation, and
purchase awards; knowledge of the
various grades, qualities, and types of
commodities purchased; skill in identi
fying/analyzing sources of supply,
market conditions, and price trends;
skill in the review and preparation of
bid specifications; ability to interpret
and apply purchasing policies of HAP,
HUD, and the State; skill in evaluating
and analyzing bid proposals; skill in
records development and maintenance
and skill in establishing and maintain
ing effective working relationships
with other employees, private vendors,
suppliers, and sales representatives.
Compensation: $1729 $2234/m onth.
