Seeled bids will be received by the City of Newport In the Office of the
City Manager. 2nd floor, 810 S .W Alder. Newport. Oregon 97386.
until 2:00 p.m ., F .S .T ., on November B. 198«, at which time the bids
wtH be publicly opened and reed for the purchase of:
Two (2) new 18-18 passenger transit coaches, both to be gasoline
powered with automatic transmission, and be fitted with wheel
chair lifts
The award of purchase contract shell be made to the lowest reiiebie end
responsive bidders complying with ell applicable requirements provid
ed that, if the City Council believes that the public interest will be beat
served by accepting other than the lowest bids, they shall have the
right to act accordingly
As security for acceptance of the contract, each bid shall be accom
pamed by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of 10 percent
110*1 of the bid. Such bid deposits of all bidders will be held by the
City of Newport for a period not to exceed ninety 190) days until all
proposals submitted have been canvassed and the bids have either
been refected in whole or in part, or the award of the contract has
been made
