musllms. The festival Is celebrated to commemorate the completion
of the month of Ramadan, the obligatory fasting period for all able

carved out a period in her life which
she c a lle d a " q u e s t io n in g o n e . " I
was w ondering if the gospel was true
and a fte r m y tw o children were born
b o th h a n d ic a p p e d , I c a m e to see
th a t th e re w as a s o u rc e fo r
e v e ry th in g an d th is s o u rc e was
G o d ."
T h is in s ig h t d e m a n d e d fro m her
m o re th a n a ve rb a l c o m m itm e n t to
her s p ir itu a ls . " W e o u g h t to be
living in such a way that people w ill
k n o w th a t we are C h ris tia n s as we
learn to be m o re selfless and reach
out to o th e rs .”
In 1979, d u rin g this e v o lu tio n a ry
process, she became a deacon. " T h e
d e a c o n 's ro le is to in t e r p r e t the
church to the w orld and the w orld to
the c h u rc h ," she added.

Episcopal School and was info rm ed
o f her selection Easter day. She said
her v o lu n ta ry te rm in a tio n fro m the

ty ra n n y o f possessio ns" w hen her
fam ily sold their home.
Since 1976, the Episcopal C h urch
has re c o g n ize d w o m e n priests, but
there are a fe w , w ith in and w ith o u t
the c h u rc h , w h o h ave n o t. B o o ze r
p re d ic ts th is n o n -a c c e p ta n c e w ill
e r o d e , " H a l f th e p e o p le in the
s e m in a ry a re w o m e n a n d in the
lo n g -te rm , you can project w hat w ill
