Thursday, July 19, 1984, in Room B20C College Centers Building, for the

Rebid
Seeled proposals for furnishing ell materials, equipment and labor for the
construction of w ater lines for ths Hazelwood W ater District will be
received at the District office at 1017 N.E. 117th Avenue, Portland, Oregon,
97220, until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 1984. Immediately thereafter,
such proposals will be publicly opened and read. A contract will be awarded
or bids rejected within sixty (00) days after the opening.
Schedule C (Revised) consists of three 13) separate bid schedules, C-1, C-2
and C-3. Bidders may elect to bid on any combination of thesa three
schedules
The overall work proposed for Schedule C (REVISED) consists of furnishing
and installing 45 lineal feet of 10-inch diameter, 644 lineal feet of 8-inch
diameter and 6,088 lineal feet of 6-inch diameter ductile iron, Class 52 pipe,
including corrosion protection miscellaneous lengths of 4- through 10-inch
PVC pressure pipe, excavation, backfill, thrust restraint, valves, fittings and
appurtenances Included are six water main crossings of E. Burnside Street
encased in Class III Reinforced Concrete Pipe Crossing range in s in from
8" D .l. to 14" D .l. wster lines. Also included is the installation of ap­
proximately 72 3/4-inch house services, 17 1-inch services, 1 1- H-inch ser­
vices, and 4 2-inch services which consist of furnishing and installing cop­
per service lines, connection, corporation stops, curb stop, handwheel
valves, excavation, backfill, surface restoration and appurtenances.

District o ffice or at the o ffice of the Consulting Engineers, LEE

A copy of said Documents may be obtained from the Engineer's office upon
request. A deposit of »40 per copy will be charged. This deposit will be
refunded if plans and specifications are returned to the office of the
Engineer in good condition within fifteen (16) days of bid data; half the
deposit fee will be refunded if returned after the fifteen-day period. No
refunds will be made after 30 days
All Proposals must be submitted on the forms furnished and each must be
accompanied by a bid guarantee in the amount of ten (10) percent of the
total bid.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a bond for faithful perfor­
mance of the contract in the full amount of the contract price.
No bid will be received or considered unless the bidder intends to comply
with the provisions of ORS 279.360. "Workmen to be paid not lesa than
prevailing wage ra te s ." A statem ent of which is included in the bid
proposal.
The Hazelwood W ater District reserves the right to reject all bids and to
waive all informalities, or to accept any bid or combination of bids which
appears to serve the beet interests of the District.
Brief description of the proposed work:
Briefly, the work is described as removal or enclosure of all asbestos-
containing materials located in the attic air plenum. Lincoln Hall. Portland
State University. Portland. Oregon. Also included is replacement insulation
for all materials removed as a result of asbestos abatement work of this con­
tract
Construction consists of wood stud sxterior and interior walls. Interior
finish materials will involve plaster, thin-coat plaster on wood studs,
millwork, painting, suspended acoustical ceilings, vinyl asbestos tile, and
carpeting. Mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and related work will be in­
volved in the project.
Bids will be received on a lump-sum basis for all of the work One set of
drawings, specifications and forms of contract documents may be obtained
by prime bidders only, from University Services, 617 S .W Montgomery,
Portland State University. Portland. Oregon, upon deposit of »20. Ad­
ditional sets may be obtained for the cost of reproduction
Two sets of drawings and one set of specifications may be obtained from
Richard H. Eslick, Architect end Planner, 9 Bernini Court, Lake Oswego,
Oregon 97094, by prime bidders upon a deposit of »76 00. Additional prints
may be purchased for the cost of reproduction.

The deposit made upon the procurement of the documents will be refunded
upon the return thereof, in good condition, within two (2) weeks after bid
opening providing drawings and specifications are returned in ORIGINAL
BOUND CONDITION, free of markings, and suitable for use during con­
struction.
Prime bidders will be required to be prequalified with Portland Community
College at least ten (101 days pnor to the date set for the bid opening in ac­
cordance with ORS Chapter 279. Prequalification forms may be obtained by
prime bidders from the A rchitect along w ith the drawings and
specifications
Bidders for this work are required to be prequalified in accordance with the
Oregon State Board of Higher Education's administrative rule. Applications
for prequalification (or notice of intent to bid if the contractor has a current
prequalification application on file with the Undersigned) must be received
at least ten (10) days before the bid opening, end shall include additional
qualifications required by Article SB-1 of Supplementary Instructions to
Bidders. Division SB.
W e are actively requesting minority and female enterprises involvement for
this project.
All bids must contain a statement assuring compliance with ORS 279.350
relating to prevailing rates of wage.
No bid will be considered unless fully completed in the manner provided in
the "Instructions to Bidders" upon the Bid Form provided by the architect.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check or a bid bond executed
in favor of Portland Community College. 12090 S .W 49th Avenue, Port­
land. Oregon 97219, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the
total amount of the bid. This check or bid bond shall be forfeited as fixed
and liquidated damages should the bidder neglect to, or refuse to, enter in­
to a contract and provide suitable bond for the faithful performance of the
work in the event the contract is awarded to him.
No bid will be considered unless fully completed in the manner provided in
the "Instructions to Bidders" upon the Bid Form provided by the Owner
and accompanied by bid security executed in favor of the State of Oregon
and the Oregon State Board of Higher Education in an equal amount to ten
(10) percent of the total amount of the bid, to be forfeited as fixed and
liquidated damages should the bidder neglect or refuse to enter into a con­
tract and provide suitable Bond for the faithful performance of the Work in
the event the contract is awarded to the bidder
The Portland Community College reserves the right to reject any or all bids
