— The
American Muslim Mission has cur
rently been reaping ihe fruits of
their collective resource* with the
purchase and distribution of over
500 chickens. Brother John H art ex
plains, " W e had a farmer grow, for
our collective buying effo rt. 500
chicken* which recently reached ma
turity. We slaughtered the fow l in a
traditional Islamic W ay. The bird is
calm and hi* counterpart cannot see
him being slaughtered. W e know

you cat it. It hat been my personal
experience that some meats have an

Collective buying it not new to
the American Muslim Mission.
During their process o f growth,
when they were called the Nation
o f Islam, collective buying was an
intrinsic part o f the organization.
"W e ll, this is not a co-op. It to a
similar situation, but we are more
organized. W e arc equipped to
handle more families. Before we
had brothers going door to door
selling ftoh. N ow , we want to be able
to encompass up to 500 fam ilies."
