Crusaders, Roy Ayers, The Dramatics. Wayne Henderson, Ronnie Laws,
Michael Walden, George Benson, Billy Cobham and Harvey Mason. They
w ill be perform ing on June 4 , 1983, for 69 Productions at the Sheraton

W ith album plans already in the making, this ambitious five-piece
promises to extend the tra d itio n that Pleasure started in 1970. Led by
Pleasure's founding members, Nathaniel Phillips and Bruce Carter, C o o l'r
also boasts Pleasure guitarist Douglas Lewis, Keyboardist Jeff Alviani and
vocalist Andre M ontague. W ill Portland continue to ignore its world-class
musicians?

styles such as New W ave, Rock and progressive Rhythm and Blues” slates
leader Nathaniel Phillips. " C o o l'r has all the necessary ingredients to be a
superstar a c t," adds guitarist Doug Lewis.
C o o l’r will be playing at the Rodeo on S .W . 2nd and Taylor on Mondays
and Tuesdays, M ay 23rd & 24th, M ay 30th & 31st and June 6th & 7th.
They will also be appearing at the Last H urrah on Sundays, June 5th and
19th.
Al Jamiaon atara in Old Phantom , a play by Qua E d w ard * and
directed by Wright Brumfield. Tha play will ba staged in tha Studio
Theatre of Lincoln Hall at Portland State University on M ay 27th,
and 28th and Juna 3rd and 4th at 8:00 p.m. Admission Is free on a
first coma first served basis. The play Is sponsored by tha Black
