The John Bauer Concert Company is pleased to announce that Iggy Pop
will make a rare Portland appearance on Saturday, February 19, 1983, at
Starry Nights, Portland’s newest hot spot, located at N .W . 6th and Burn
side in downtown Portland. Showtime is 9:00 p.m.
Iggy Pop, considered by many to be the "Godfather of Punk,” promises
to deliver his usual high-energy show to Portland fans. Those who’ve seen
or experienced "T h e lg ” in concert, don’t need convincing. For those
who’ve never seen rock’s most bizarre and dynamic performers, all we can
say is "D o n ’t miss this show!"
Tickets for Iggy Pop are $9 available at all Portland area G .l. Joes and
Singles-Going-Steady Records at 949 S.W. Oak.

You may wonder why V anity,
lead singer of Vanity 6. goes onstage
in little more than black leather
boots and a silk camisole.
" It's an extension of my person
a lity ," says the 19-year-old singer/
songwriter, "and o f the other girls
in the group. I d o n 't like clothes
that much— I don't feel comfortable
in them. To me, what I wear onstage
is like walking on the beach in a
bathing suit. I f I felt at all uncom
fortable, I wouldn’t do it. I mean, I
cover up all the private essentials
while still showing the best of me!”
Indeed, it seems that Vanity's dis
taste fo r constricting clothes is a
lifelong condition. "Even when I'm
in my ro o m ,” she adds, " I strip.
Clothes tie up my body! Even when
I was a little girl growing up. I'd
love to run around half naked. And,
then, you know , when I started
sprouting, my mother had to ad
monish me to put clothes on: ’ You
can't walk around in your under
wear all the time!’ " Could anything
keep the long-legged beauty from
going onstage in her lingerie?
"Yes,” says Vanity, " I wouldn't do
it if I weighed 500 pounds."
