w om en to enroll in vocational tra in ­
ing program s w hile collecting u n em ­

w orked closely w ith Rep. A n d y A n ­
derson (R -R o s e b u rg ), on this b ip a r­
tisan e ffo r t, securing over 37 spo n ­
sors in the House and 16 in the Sen­
a te . " T h i s b ill p ro v id e s c o n c re te
h e lp to u n e m p lo y e d re s id e n ts o f
District 18 so they can receive the re­
trainin g they need at P o rtla n d C o m
m u n ity C o lle g e C ascade and o th e r

sion. The 1983 Legislature must act
to put people back to w o r k ."

w om en w ho have lost jo b s because
o f p la n t closu res o r w h o a re long
term unem ployed to attend (rainin g
courses while collecting benefits.
