trict of Oregon (Tri Met) will receive sealed bids until 3:00 p.m ., Pacific
Standard Time, on March 1, ,983. at 4012 S.E. ,7th Avenue in the Con­
tracts Section, Third Floor, Portland, Oregon, 97202. Attention: John R
Post, Director of Engineering and Contracts. Bids will be opened in Confer­
ence Room "C ft D" at that time for:
Civil Construction &n Trackwork Installation: Line Section One,
for the Banfield Light Rail Tranait Project, Contract No. 83-7010.
The bid consists of track construction, special trackwork construction, rail
welding, track removal, drainage, roadwork, grading, aaphalt paving of
streets at grade crossings and access aisles between storage tracks, foun­
dations for traction electrification poles, construction of station platforms,
and other related work as may be detailed in the Bid Documents.
The successful bidder shall be required to comply with all applicable Equal
Opportunity and MBE laws and regulations.
All bidders shall be required to certify that they are not on the Comptroller
General's list of ineligible contractors.
The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon does not

N icarag u a: A S o ciety in T re n e itlo n , a selection o f photographs by
New York photographer Jamey Stillings, opens Monday, Jan. 31, at the
White Gallery, Portland Slate University. Stillings spent three months in
Nicaragua filming ordinary people at work and observing the changes re­
sulting from the 1979 Sandinista revolution. During late 1980 and early
1981 he spent time visiting a farming cooperative in Coyolito; observed San-
dinista's Literary Crusade in Pantipitu; and worked in a state-owned cot lee
farm at LaEstrella. His resulting photographs reflect what Stillings calls an
“ in-depth and realistic picture of the on going revolutionary process in N i­
caragua." The exhibit will open from 7-9 p.m., and will run from Feb. I to
Feb 25.
