Bobbie Jean was duly sur­ prised by the thoughtfulness o f her friends who arranged cocktails and dinner, but her hostesses were also surprised that nearly a hundred peo­ ple heard about th e ir plans and wanted to jo in in the evening’s fun out at the Airtel. Bobbie’s 26 years were spent as a classroom teacher, a cu rricu lu m specialist a n d /o r desegregation spe­ cialist. “ The G ro u p ” has been to ­ gether for a number o f years in what they call a “ casual, relaxed struc­ ture.” They meet if, as, where and when they want to, but they get the message across if they have to.
