The Portland Oregon Branch o f
the N A A C P was one of a hundred
and fifty branches selected by the
National N A A C P to participate in a
project to implement four special
programs: A C TS O , the Academic,
Cultural, Technological and Scien
tific Olympics; Outreach/Commun-
ity Help Center; Neighborhood
Youth Center; and Prison Branch
Support. The Special Project will be
coordinated by the Branch and Field
Services Department, under the di
rect supervision of Dr. Emmett C.
Burns, National Program Imple
mentor and the Regional Directors.
