dent o f Pacific Lutheran University,
will bring the message, and the W ar
ner Pacific College Choir will sing.
The service begins at noon and ends
at 1:00 pm.
A second service w ill be held at
Grace Memorial Episcopial Church,
1535 N E 17th. Ministers o f N o rth
east churches will lead short medita
tions on the Seven Last W ords o f
Christ. The two-hour service will be
gin at noon.
M ke Donahue, Presbyterian lay
man and K O1N-TV newscaster, will
bring the message at the 57th A n
nual Easter Service. The service will
begin at 6:30 a.m. at the Amphithe
ater in Washington Park.
Featured are the Rex Putnam
H ig h School C h o ir; the Encore
Brass, a twelve-piece brass ensem
ble; and dance, mime and congrega
tional singing. For the first time the
service w ill be signed for the d eaf
and hearing impaired.

The most successful crafts marketplace in the country returns on April 3, when Portland
Saturday Market begins its ninth season. Over 300 crafts and 30 food booths will set up un
der the Burnside Bridge each weekend from April through Christmas. Performances by fea
tured entertainers and street musicians add to the festivities. Thousands o f visitors each year
know the market to be a source o f some o f the Northwest’s finest handcrafts and fresh pro
duce, all sold by the maker. Special events throughout the year and an ever-changing array
o f booths and products make the market a shopping experience for all seasons, and 1982
promises to be our most exciting year.
