a huge success
Tom Byers of Athletics West crosses the wire in 3:56.7 for the first ever sub-4 time
at the Oregon indoor Track and Raid Meet. Byers, formerly of Ohio State, currently
lives in Eugene.
Doug Padilla steals the tw o -mile from favorite Alberto Salazar.
Padilla broke away with 3'A laps to go, winning in 8:25, the fastest
indoor mile this year.
Phil Christian of the University of Oregon cleared the bar but did not place. Jake
Jacoby of Boise State was first at 7-0, with Walt Reynolds of Oregon at 6 10.
K. Koniahi of Japan cleara 17 0 with eaae. Me waa followed by I
Takanaawa of Japan and Scott Davis of O8U.
