Christmas time generally brings
out the best in us all in giving and
sharing joy with others. Sometimes
we express our gratitude for being
able to share something we have
through an organization which can
more effectively act for us.
A few days ago several organiza
tions got together and gave a Christ
mas luncheon party at the M att
Dishman Center for nearly 300 A l
bina senior citizens and disabled
persons. There was turkey (and all
the trimmings), music o f the season,
a decorated tree and gifts for each
guest.

Mrs. Alice Hayden lent her rich
voice to the occasion and led the
group singing. The Rev. Frank

Church o f god in C hrist sang and
was accompanist for a choral group.
Juanita Woods acted as mistress
o f ceremonies. C oordinators were

and Delores Ramsey.

this week was George Bishop. The
good news came from his doctor,
Dr. John Grover o f the Kaiser-Per-
manente Research Center who re
vealed to Ri'hop that as a heart pa
tient he had been fun ctio ning
trouble-free for several months all
by himself— without medication—
with only a placebo. Bishop was de
lighted.
Bishop had been one o f 155 heart
patients at the Kaiser Center who
had been participants in a nation
wide study concerning the use o f the
drug prop an alo l in preventing
fu rth er heart attacks among this

On Sunday, the “ Keep Christ in
Christmas” festival was held at the
Hilton Hotel. There were nearly 100
art exhibits and a live Nativity scene
plus a fall musical program. It was
all free to the public. The annual
event was under the sponsorship o f
the Ecumenical M inisters o f O re
gon, the Archdiocesan Council o f
Catholic W om en, Church Women
United and the Holy Name Union.
