Vietnam: The endless war will be shown on KATU on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. The
special features the unique problems faced by Vietnam war veterans, both when
the returned to the US and today. Among the serious problems explored are
delayed stress syndrom, cander and other medical problems and birth defects of
children, difficulties in finding work and the lack o f respect and care afforded
these veterans by the government and their fellow citizens.
Especially troubling is the government’ s refusal to accept responsibility and
provide benefits for medical disabilities incurred by men who were exposed to
agent orange.
Although the program mentions the high percentage o f Blacks in the front
lines, little is seen o f the unique problems faced by Black vets.
The program is disturbing, disgusting, and worth seeing.
