Policy Statement
It is the policy of the Port of Portland to establish goals whereby minority-
end woman-owned businesses have the opportunity to participate in Port-
wide and airport construction contracts, and are given the opportunity to
bid on airport concession leases and service contracts; and
That approval is given to the Fiscal Year 1962 Minority Business Enterprise
Program to stimulate minority business participation in the Port's compe
titive bidding process and in airport concession leases and service con
tracts; and
That such a program consist of.
(1) A goal of 9 per cent participation by minorgy business enterprises
and 3 per cent participation by women-owned enterprises in Port-
wide and federally funded construction projects, in fiscal year 1962
and solicitation of minority/women business enterprises to com
pete in airport concession leases and service contracts; and
(2) Distribution of contents of the program throughout the Port offices
and to minority and nonminority communities' business organiza
tions and publications.
The Port will evaluate and adjust the substance of the program annually.
