In the first half of 1979 a female vocal group called SISTER SLEDGE
came to the surface o f the music world. After their first album entitled Sister
Sledge and their hit single "H e Are E am ily" everyone knew they were going
to be Super Stars. Now after a succession o f hits, "H e's The GreatestDan-
cer", "Love Somebody Today, " "G ot to Love Somebody, " "Reach Your
Peak, " "Pretty Baby, " " I Just D on’t Know How To Love, " "G ood Girl, ”
and "Easy Street, " just to name a few, SISTER SLEDGE has virtually
become a household name across the United States and around the world.
Born in Champaign, Illin o is in

playing music all his life. In a recent

“ When 1 was little, we had an organ
you had to pump with your feet,
and 1 could kick out a tune. But it
had to be a church tune. If my folks
heard me playing Boggie Woggie,
they'd come up and pop me in thè
mouth. I had to go next door, where
there was a piano, to even play a
blues tune. The first tune 1 could
play was "A fte r H o u rs," and I ’ve
gotten away from the blues roots.”
