undocumented Mexican worker’s experience in the United States, w ill be
shown at the Fifth Avenue Cinema October 15 through October 21, 1980.
Proceeds o f the 6PM and 8PM showings on opening night, October 15,
will go to the Willamette Valley Immigration Project, a non-profit, mexicano
organization which has defended hundreds o f Mexicans in Oregon against
deportation. Admission for the 8PM benefit showing will be $4.00; general
admission for the 6PM showing w ill be $3.50. Senior citizens and students
admission will be $2.50 for the 6PM showing only. For more information call

American High School Band.
As director o f the All-American
Band, Foster w ill conduct the
Band’ s perform ances in the
n a t io n a lly - t e le v is e d M a c y ’ s
Thanksgiving Day Parade in New
York and a holiday concert at Car­
negie Hall.
During his distinguished musical
career. Dr. Foster has created more
than 200 band pageants performed
by the F lo rid a A & M U niversity
M arching Band fo r nearly 700
m illion people throughout the coun­
try. Also under Foster's direction,
the Florida A&M University Sym­
phonic Band is renowned fo r its
concert performances.
For his w ork w ith student-
m usicians, Foster has earned a
number o f honors and awards, in­
cluding a resolution issued by the
Florida Legislature for Distinctive
Achievem ent, a C ita tio n o f Ex­
cellence from the N ational Band
Association, and a Distinguished
Service Award from his alma mater,
the University of Kansas. He holds u
doctorate degree from Teachers
College at Columbia University.
As an adjudicator, clinician, lec­
turer and consultant, Foster has ap­
peared at more than 35 colleges and
universities. He is the author o f the
textbook, Band Pageantry, and has
published numerous articles in
music education magazines.
