tinuing its investigation o f allega­
tions o f racial discrimination against
18-year-old Kevin Grigsby ai the
Portland General Electric building
site in Boardman.
The C iv il Rights D ivisio n has
amended the onginal employment
discrim ination com plaint against

Combustion Engineers. Inc. to add
the Boilermakers Union Local 72.
The D ivisio n has also added
respondents in two public accommo­
dations compiaints, one against the
C A D D rive In c ., and the other
against Portland General Electric.

Community Coalition for School In­
tegration that there be a central ad­
ministrator responsible for desegre­
gation and the reorganisation from
three to two areas has brought in
realignment in Title V II staff.
Four persons are assigned to the
Centra, Administrator to work with
Clint Thomas. Director of Desegre­
gation Programs; Bobbie Sunn » ill
work with the high schools to assist
m implementation o f desegregation,
will work on compliance with federal
and state regulations, and will serve
as a liaison with community groups

advise the principals in the area o f
desegregation.

told committee members a: their first
meeting of the year The Title \ Il
committee advises and monitors the
desegregation program in 23 elemen­
tary and 13 high schools
The T itle \11 project provides
compensatory education for B.ack
students who are transferred for
desegregation and for white students
in the receiving schools A parent in­
volvement component provides 30
paid Parent Activity Managers, to
provide a liaison between the sending
and receiving school and to en­
courage p a rticip a tio n o f Black
parents at the recetv ng school.
A third component this year will
be m u lti-c u ltu ra l curriculum
teacher training
