Women’s superiority noted
Noted a n th ro p o lo g ist Ashley
Montagu w ill be on the Portland
State University campus to give a
free public lecture at noon on Thurs
day, January 25th in the ballroom o f
PSU’s Smith Memorial Center (1825
S.W. Broadway).
The title o f his lecture is "T h e
Natural Superiority o f Women,” an
idea he first proposed in a book o f
the same title published in 1953.
Montagu is famous, among other
things, for his contention that males
are superior to females only in terms
o f physical strength, a quality o f lit-
tle importance in modern times. In
his book he quotes facts and
statistics to show that women are
biologically, emotionally and intel
lectually superior to their male coun
terpans.
Montagu is also noted for his ex
pertise on legal and scie n tific
problems, on race relations, and is
author o f the famous book, “ The
Concept o f Race."
