To the Delegatee to the 69th NAACP Annual Convention;
Pet and I welcome you to Oregon. We hope you enjoy
our Oregon hospitality — the matchless beauty of our
state and the warmth and friendliness of our people.
We appreciate having your convention here.
Throughout our history, Oregon has been a land of op*
portunity. And, throughout the history of your
organization, the NAACP has blazed trails of opportunity
for all people. Pat and I feel close to the ideals of the
NAACP — we share your respect for the dignity of each
individual and your deep commitment to the continuing
struggle for equal opportunity.
In working to bring about the true meaning of
brotherhood, the NAACP has added much to the quality
of life in America . . . you are most welcome in Oregon.
Sincerely,
Bob Straub
