On July 80. 1977, Friends of Multnomah County Library will hold a eafo af need,
non-Ubrary beaks in the basement parking area of the Galleria. The proceeds of this
event will go to benefit the Multnomah County Library.
Thousands of children’s books and adult fiction and non-fiction will be on sale along
with tapes, records, sheet music, encyclopedias, sets of books, quality magazines, and
rare and valuable eollector's volumes.
Books are priced within reach of all book lovers. Hardcovers will sell for 25 eents,
paperbacks tor 10 cents, and sets and rare volumes at equally tempting prices. This
year there will be special events for children. Storytellers from the Multnomah
County Library staff will read and tell stories throughout the day.
A demonstration panel of Reeeverv, b e ., the Association of Nervous and Former
Mental Patients, will be held at St. Andrew’s Church, N.E. 9th A Alberta, on Monday,
July 11th at 8:00 p.m. The Panel will launch the new group which will meet at the
same time and place every week.
Recovery is an international organization which employs a systematic self-help
method originated and perfected by the late Psychiatrist and Neurologist, Dr.
Abraham A. Low. Now celebrating its fortieth anniversary, the organization's
objectives are to prevent relapses in former mental patients and chronic conditions in
nervous patients. Through their Recovery training, members learn to handle the
frustrations and irritations of every day life with practice and encouragement of other
members of the group who have succeeded in conquering their fears. Meetings are
open to the public and ther is no charge for attending.
