Tbe cost of buying out Pacific Power in 1976
dollars and putting the city in the electric business
is $191,000,000. And it would take a 64% rate
increase just to get it started.
Besides that, where’s the power coming from?
And at what cost?
The Bonneville Power Administration has
rejjeatedly stated firm power for Portland is not
available... and if it were available the cost would
not necessarily be cheaper.
Don’t be fooled by cheap power promises. The
price of trying to turn the dock back is too
