Notice is hereby given that the City of Portland has filed a major
modification with the US. Department of Labor for federal funds
available under Title I of the Comprehensive Employment and Training
Act of 1973.
This modification extends the program year from June 30, 1976 to
September 30, 1976, and increases the grant allotment by $881,786
which will be obligated for expenditure June 30 to September 30, 1976.
The total amount of fun^j avoilabe July 1, 1975 through September
30, 1976 is $6,237,443. Anticipated expenditures by cost categories are:
Administration -- $1,207,609, Allowances, $905,706, Participant Wages —
$1,781,223, Fringe Benefits - $205,294, Training - ■$ T W ,7J 5, and
Services -- 1,182,856.
Planned expenditures by program activities are: Classroom Training —
$1,902,588, On-the-Job Training — $1,245,648, Work Experience —
$l,39Z,203, and Services to Participants - $1,492,004.
From July 1, 1975 through September 30, 1976, the program will enroll
4,564 individuals, of which 3,307 are new enrollments this year. A total
of 3,410 will leave the program as follows: Direct Placement -- 542,
Indirect Placement - 569, Obtained Employment - 265, Other Positive
Termination — 292, and Non-Positive Termination — 1,742.
The
Significant Segments for the program are: Black -- 1,569, American
Indian — 85, Spanish American — 122, Other Minorities -- 411, Veteran --
938, Ex-Offender — 765, Youth — 1,116, and Older Worker — 458.
Planned enrollment in program activity is: Classroom Training —
1,050, Vocational Education — 384, On-the-Job Training — 650, and Work
Experience -- 1,291.
