Or Thielicke has visited the United
States on two previous M'caaions.
During 1956. he was a guest professor
at Drew University, and lectured at
Union. Princeton. U niversity of Chicago,
and Washington D.C.
In 1963 most
of his time was spent traveling across
the country, preaching anil conducting
sessions with pastors, teachers, stu
dents and newsmen.
Many of his works are published, with
over seventeen in English
alone
Presently his theological works are
receiving wide attention, especially his
four volum es. T heological E th ics
Among his other works are How The
World Began. Nihilism. Between God
and Satan, and Life Can Begin Again
The convocation is open to the public
without charge
From 1936 1940, It r Thielicke was a
professor at Heidelberg University until
he was dismissed from his duties for his
bold criticism of Nazi policies. Though
he was forbidden, like Dietrich Bon
hoeffer and other pastors, to travel or
speak publicly, he taught courses in
theology anil lectured 1« thousands
during the height of the Allied bombing.
In I960. Thielicke became the first
Protestant theologian to hold the post of
