Whether he has come to buy a tnousand dollar camera or
just to get a few pointers on improving family snap shots,
the customer at Sandy's Camera Shop ran count on the
friendly interest and valuable practical advice from Kevin
Smith, mgr . and the rest of the friendly sales staff.
"Every customer comes into our store,"
said
Kevin,
"should gel some new pointers on shooting picture» or on
the u»e of different accessories or film
I never want a
customer to leave without benefiting from at least a little
useful knowledge
Kevin does not believe in pressing a sale or in selling
inexperienced photographers equipment too expensive or
sophisticated for their needs.
“Many of our customers have little or no knowledge of
photography Knowing that, I try to sell them cameras or
other equipment that is reasonably priced and easy to
operate la te r, as they gain experinee and want to get into
more interesting and challenging photography. I'll point out
t ly advantages of using the more advanced equipment."
"We want to establish the confidence and trust of all our
customers. We like to see them come in and ask for a
particular salesman, if for no other reason than to get
advice on some problem with their camera We're always
glad to help if we can ."
Sandy'» feature» a variety ol brand names and prices in
cameras. Besides top names like I-eira, customers ran find
such brands as Nikon, Canon. I’ entax and Olympus. These
last named brands Kevin recommends as the most likely to
last over the years.
“Beside» those." Kevin said, “there are a myraid of
cameras that I would put in the high school or basic college
