at Jantzen Beach Center
Strumming banjos, a side splitting clown and an antique
auto display are a few of the attractions during the gala
third anniversary celebration of Jantzen Beach Shopping
Center. October 2nd thru 5th.
Antique car buffs w ill enjoy a display of Ruick
convertibles. The display will feature models from 1907 to
1957. The '57 model was the last Ruick convertible sold in
Portland.
The public can also enjoy a display of antique models in
various stages of restoration.
On October 2nd the Rose City Banjoliers w ill appear by
the fountain in the central mall. Listeners can get into a
rousing birthday mood with the music of fifteen to
twenty five banjoista. The performance is scheduled for
7:30 p.m.
Among several other music groups to entertain during
the birthdav week w ill be the Forest Grove Gleemen and
girls. October 3rd.
Scheduled time is 7:30 p.m.
The
Troubadours, a well known barbershop quartet w ill appear
in the Mall Saturday and Sunday. 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
A special treat w ill be the Gresham Senior Hot Shots.
This senior citizen novelty band, with an average age of
seventy three, plays music on homemade instruments. The
group is made up of fourteen women and four men. They
are scheduled for October 5th at 2:30 p.m.
Other attractions include displays of antique glassware,
furniture, and other items.
The kids w ill enjoy the zany antics of Clarence the Clown
and his dog.
