Still, not every abnorm al con

ing. it appeared that the teeth had
been causing her no pain o r dis­
com fort whatsoever.
Rejecting her claim , the court
ruled that she hud not been suf­
fering from a “disease ” Th e court
said there had been "no distur­
bance in any o f the functions of
the body."
O f course, the policy itself mav
avoid doubt by spelling out the
specific conditions to which it ap­
plies.
A man suffering from a severe
abscess tried to collect health in ­
surance on the ground that his pot-
icy listed "boils" as one o f the
covered ailments
Rut the court said that boils,
which are an external skin condi­
tion. are different fro m abscesses
— which are internal. Turning
down the m an’s claim , the court
said: "The language o f the policy
is explicit.”

be accommodated are computed on a cumulative basis
throughout the entirety of this summary.
The planned total numbers of individuals to be served
during the program year will be 358. which includes 320
persons carried over from F.Y. 1975 and 38 persons who
are expected to enroll in the program this year The
number of planned terminations is placed at 342 and the
planned number of participants placed on unsubsidized jobs
is 226
The 38 new enrollees will be comprised of persons from
significant segments of Portland's SMSA
and will
approximate the following percentages: Black 132%I, Indian
121%), Spanish American 121%). Other M inority (13%), and
White (13%).
Referrals of Title I I participants to the Supportive
Service's subunit of the Title I system will be provided to
increase the likelihood of participants remaining in the
program

moving
into
full time
non subsidized
employment.
The total dollar amount of the grant application is
$919,928. Estimated in dollar amounts by cost category:
Administration, $91,993; Salaries, $710.136; and Fringe
Benefits, $117,799.
