N O TIC E IS H ER EB Y G IV E N that a public hearing will be held by the Iri County
Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (Tri-M et) at the Portland W ater Bureau
Building Auditorium, 1800 S.W. Sixth Avenue, Portland. Oregon, at 2:00 p.m., June 17,
1975, for the purpose of considering a project for which financial assistance is being sought
from the Federal Highway Administration, pursuant to the Federal Aid Highway Act of
1973, as amended, generally described as follows:
Federal Aid Highway Funds to be used for a non-highway public mass transit special use
project. These funds would be used for the development and construction of a bus storage
and service facility located at S.E. Powell Boulevard and S.E. 89th Streets. The bus facility
would be of a temporary nature located on an approximately 14 acre site adjacent to the
proposed I 205 Freeway, south of S.E. Powell Boulevard. The site would be developed to
serve as a bus storage and minor servicing area for approximately 200 buses. A temporary
service building would be constructed to conduct vehicle inspection and tire servicing. Bus
cleaning and fueling facilities would also be developed.
No persons, families or businesses will be displaced by this project. There will be no
major impact on the environment and the project is in conformance and a part of the
Transportation Development Program under CRAG. The project is currently under review
by the A 95 Clearinghouse and the Oregon Transportation Commission.
The estimated cost of the project is $2,215,000. Federal participation will be $1,727,700
and the local share will be $487.300 allocated from funds from T ri-M et and the Oregon
State Highway Division.
A t the hearing T ri M et will afford an opportunity for interested persons or agencies to be
heard with respect to the social, economic and environmental aspects of the project.
Interested persons may submit oral or written evidence and recommendations with respect
to the project.

year 1974 1975 and ia a part of the transportation
development program under CRAG.
The estimated cost of the project is $3.321.354
Federal participation will be $1,660.677 and the local
share will be $1.660.677 allocated from the funds
collected by employer payroll taxes.

to the social, economic and environmental asperta of the

Notice is hereby given that the City of Portland has filed a grant application with the
Department of laibor for Federal Manpower funds available under the Comprehensive
Employment and Training Act (C E T A l of 1973. Title I. for a total planned amount of
$3.527.145.
The Plan covers a time period beginning July 1. 1975, and ending June 30, 1976. The
number of clients to be accommodated are computed on a cumulative basis throughout the
entirety of this summary.
The planned total numbers of individuals to be served during the program year will be
3.166; the number of planned terminations is placed at 2.003; and the planned total number
of clients placed on subsidized jobs will be 810.
The significant segments of the Portland SMSA population who are planned to be served
under Title 1 of the Comprehensive Employment and Training A rt of 1973 are Blacks
(1,055), Indians (256). Chicanos (703), Other Minorities (351), Youth (950), Older Workers
<270). Veterans (600), and Women (1,108).
Planned program activities and services which will be accessible to the client population
is as follows: Classroom training. Prime Sponsor, (including Adult Basic Education (ABE)
and English as a second language (ESL); On the job training; and Support Services. The
estimated funds allocated to finance each component within the C ETA program are divided
into the following amounts: Classroom Training. Prime Sponsor. $1.436.699; OJT
$1,125.597; Pre Vocational and Vocational Training, $291,000; and Support Services
$964,849.
Total dollar amount of the grant application is $3,527,145. Estimated in dollar amounts
by cost category: Administration. $705,429, Allowances $901.167, Wages. $756,886, Fringe
Benefits. $133,568; Training. $300,389; and Services, $729,706.
